About the European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP)
The European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP) is a Brussels-based nonprofit established in 1994 that represents inland ports and port authorities across Europe.
EFIP’s membership includes nearly 200 inland ports and port authorities in 18 European nations, as well as Switzerland, Serbia, and Ukraine—providing a strong platform to advance the role of inland waterways in sustainable freight mobility.
EFIP promotes the economic, environmental, and social benefits of inland waterway transport through joint marketing, information exchange, policy dialogue, and collaborative research that raise awareness, foster innovation, and strengthen the contribution of inland ports to resilient supply chains.
