Dredge "Yellow Fin" (Contractor, Rigid Constructors, LLC) will be operating in Cedar Bayou. Dredging will start north of Beacon 42 to Bayou at State Highway 146 Tide Staff.
Yellow Fin's operation in the area will be accompanied by a mud tug (Captain Bill), a survey boat, and a crew boat. The Contractor will using both floating and submerged pipeline in/around this work area. The unloading site is located at 29.73342 - 94.92500 (latitude and longitude, respectively). A pipeline crossing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 1000L to 1400L at 29.69945, -94.91635 (Latitude and Longitude, respectively). This pipeline crossing will impact traffic through the area. The dredged material will be placed in Ijams Lake and Placement Area 2. The expected completion date is May 1, 2023.
Mariners are requested to travel at their slowest speed to minimize wake. They are expected to establish communication with the Traffic Center prior to passing and proceed with caution near the dredge.
Communications can be established via VHF Channel 13 and 68. The Traffic Center monitors Channel 13 on a 24-hour basis. Other dredges should contact the Traffic Center to coordinate movement near Yellow Fin's area of operations.
