Greetings,
Your Category I Channel Closure request at Houston Ship Channel Light 78 for dredge pipeline removal is APPROVED for Friday, November 18th, 2022 from 1000 to 1400 (local). Once the operation is complete, please notify the VTS Watch Supervisor immediately so vessel traffic may resume.
Please ensure vessels check in on VHF 05A prior to commencing your operation. If this project becomes delayed, contact the VTS Watch Supervisor, 281-464-4837, at your earliest convenience so that we may cancel or amend the proposed channel closure.
Houston Traffic will make the following Broadcast during this closure.
“VTS HOUSTON/GALVESTON DIRECT NO VESSEL MOVEMENTS ON THE HOUSTON SHIP CHANNEL BETWEEN HSC LT78 AND BAYPORT SHIP CHANNEL JUNCTION LIGHT B FROM 1000-1400 (LOCAL) ON NOVEMBER 18, 2022 DUE TO DREDGE PIPELINE OPERATIONS.
VESSELS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STOP OR PUSH IN ALONG THE CHANNEL DURING THE CLOSURE.”

Encore dredging partners would like to request a CAT1 channel closure of the HSC 1000 ft Norths G-Lights-BP JUNC to remove a submarine pipeline crossing in the HSC north of Bayprot Flare. We will not impeed inboud/outboud traffic from bayport flare to galveston.
