ARKANSAS RIVER - USACE CHANNEL STATUS REPORTS – UPDATE
Attached as enclosures to this LNM, are USACE Arkansas River Channel Status Reports.
ARKANSAS RIVER - WHITE RIVER ENTRANCE - CHANNEL CONDITIONS/USACE NAVIGATION NOTICE
This is to advise mariners transiting the White River Entrance Channel (WREC) of increased head differentials between Norrell Lock and Dam and Montgomery Point Lock and Dam. At 11:00 a.m., May 2, 2022, the tailwater elevation at Norrell Lock and Dam was 143.38 feet-msl and the headwater elevation at Montgomery Point Lock and Dam was 140.33 feet-msl with a differential of 3.05 feet. The WREC differential is forecasted to crest at around 3.5 feet on or around Tuesday, May 3, 2022. The differentials are expected to remain above 3 feet for approximately 3 to 5 days. Mariners are reminded of advised tow restrictions during increased differentials: WREC Differential # Barges

3.0 to 4.4 feet 12 barge down bound restriction.
No restriction up bound.
4.5 to 5.0 feet 9 barge down bound restriction.
No up bound restriction.
5.1 to 5.9 feet 4 barge down bound restriction during daylight.
2 barge down bound restriction during night.
No up bound restriction.
Mariners transiting the WREC should use extreme caution in this area, especially when passing Montgomery Point Lock and Dam. ARKANSAS RIVER MILE
403.5 - MILE 401.5 - CHANNEL CONDITION/USACE SAILING INSTRUCTION
The USACE has reported a slight encroachment between approximate Miles 403.5 and 401.5, LDB, Chouteau Pool Nr. 17. The USACE recommends mariners favor the “green side”, until further notice. Mariners are asked to check with L/D 17, for the latest information. Mariners may contact Mr. Brad Johnson, Navigation Operation Manager at (918) 687-4501, ext. 2 or Mr. Jacob Simpson, Navigation Field Engineer at (918) 669-7244, for additional information.
MILE 125.4 - MILE 118.2 - CHANNEL CONDITION/REGULATED NAVIGATION AREA – UPDATE
River water flows have decreased. The Regulated Navigation Area, at Little Rock, Arkansas, from Mile 125.4 to Mile 118.2, has been cancelled.
