Atchafalaya River Bar Channel (Update)

NAVIGATION BULLETIN NO. 24-34, 1 MARCH 2024, ATCHAFALAYA RIVER BAR CHANNEL (UPDATE)

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 24-18, dated 31 January 2024, stating that the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge CAROLINA will be working between Mile 164 and Mile 167 of the Atchafalaya River Bar Channel until approximately 22 February 2024.

MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE DREDGING OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AND DEMOBILIZATION OPERATIONS WILL BE ONGOING THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 31 MARCH 2024.  THE DEMOBILIZATION OPERATIONS WILL OCCUR DURING DAYLIGHT HOURS, 7 DAYS A WEEK, AND THE DREDGE CAN BE CONTACTED ON VHF MARINE CHANNELS 13 AND 16.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
