Atchafalaya River Mile 134.0 to 146.0 (Update)

Notice Number: 24-35

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 23-142, dated 20 November 2023, stating that the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge TEXAS will be working in the Crewboat Cut between Mile 134.0 and Mile 146.0 of the Atchafalaya River until approximately 28 February 2024.

MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE DREDGING OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 31 MARCH 2024.

The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will be monitoring VHF Marine Channels 13 and 16.  Dredged material will be deposited through floating pipelines and marked submerged pipelines into designated placement areas.

Besides dredging equipment, there are numerous work and support vessels associated with this dredging operation.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
