Automation and Controls Engineer (East Peoria, IL)

INGEGRIS is accepting applications for a Automation and Controls Engineer in East Peoria, IL. INTEGRIS Engineering seeks a controls engineer with a broad technical background including PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, robitics, hardware selection and interfacing, and use of CAD tools.

Prefer 5+ years of experience.

The successful candidate will possess a diverse set of skills and interests and will serve on multiple project teams. Desired qualifications include:


  • PLC, HMI, SCADA programming
  • Interfacing sensors and actuators
  • Use of communication busses such as CAN and SSI
  • Experience controlling hydraulic systems
  • Knowledge of control theory, PID tuning, stability analysis
  • Experience with a variety of controls hardware
  • Component selection and BOM creation
  • Power distribution
  • Industrial robots


  • AutoCAD Electrical
  • SolidWorks experience a plus
  • MATLAB/Simulink experience a plus, especially modeling complex electromechanical systems


  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Diverse interests and skill set, with an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Mechanical and/or structural experience a plus
  • Experience estimating and quoting projects
  • FMEA and design reviews
  • Familiarity with code compliance


  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written
