Bayou Teche-East Calumet Floodgate (update)

Date: UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 18-144, dated 31 October 2018,
stating that the East Calumet Floodgate will remain closed to
navigation until further notice, due to heavy siltation on the
west side of the structure making it unsafe for navigation.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE EAST AND WEST CALUMET FLOODGATES HAVE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATIONS.

The East and West Calumet Floodgates are located on Bayou Teche at approximately mile 5, just east of Wax Lake Outlet.

Mariners can contact the East Calumet Floodgate for up-to-date
information at 985-384-7697. The points of contact with the New
Orleans District are Tim Connell at 504-862-2360 and Anh Nguyen
at 504-862-2153.
