Notice to Navigators: CAERNARVON DIVERSON

Notice number: 19767/MVN 22-46

Effective 05/03/2022 07:00 thru 05/13/2022 19:00 CDT

GATE REPAIRS: Caernarvon Sector Gate

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on 3 May 2022 and continuing through 7:00 p.m. on 13 May 2022, the Caernarvon Sector Gate will be closed to navigation concerning large vessels due to necessary upper hinge repairs being performed by a hired labor unit.

The navigation channel between the Caernarvon Sector Gates will be restricted due to the half open positioning of the sector gates.

Mariners are advised that there will be a floating plant on-site that may be obstructing the channel during repairs.

Dependent on diver status and the work status, small vessels may be allowed to pass through the structure, upon coordination with the Maintenance Unit’s point of contact on-site, at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution.

The M/V SHALLOW DRAFT 17 can be contacted on VHF Marine Radio Channel 13.
