Calcasieu River (update)

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 22-01, dated 3 January 2022, stating that the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge SUSAN CROSBY will be working in the Calcasieu River from mile 17 to mile 36 (including Clooney Island and Devil’s Elbow) until approximately 1 August 2022.
MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE DREDGING OPERATIONS HAVE BEEN EXTENDED AND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 28 FEBRUARY 2023.
The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will give way to passing navigation.
The dredge can be contacted on either VHF marine channel 13 or 16 for sailing instructions.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
