Calcasieu River-Westlake Railroad Bridge Closure

MSIB 34-22 Calcasieu River-Westlake Railroad Bridge

All mariners are advised that the Westlake Railroad Bridge, located in the vicinity of mile marker 36 on the Calcasieu River, will be closed to marine traffic on the following dates and times:

Oct. 3: 7:00AM thru 12:00PM and 1:00PM thru 5:30PM

Oct. 4 thru Oct. 7: 6:00AM thru 5:00PM

Oct. 8 thru Oct. 13: 7:00AM to 12:00PM and 1:00PM to 5:30PM

This closure is required for the construction of a new fender system for the bridge structure. Mariners are advised to use caution when transiting. There is no alternate route for marine traffic through the affected area. Any questions can be directed to the on-site project engineer at (409) 599-6893. M/V Joan K will be monitoring VHF channel 16 & 17.
