Channel Maintenance Dredging Newburgh Lower Approach, Ohio River Mile 776.5

Notice is given that “Luhrs Bros., Inc” will commence maintenance dredging in the lower approach at Newburgh Locks and Dam (Ohio River Mile 776.5). Approximate dates for this dredging will be 22-26 July 2023.

Dredging operations will be conducted 24 hours per day, seven days per week. During this period, the Dredge Bill Holman will be in the navigation channel and the disposal pipeline may be crossing the navigation channel, requiring the disposal pipeline to be opened for passing traffic. Contact the Dredge Bill Holman for passing instruction on marine channel 13. Once contact has been made with the Dredge Bill Holman, proceed at the slowest safe speed. The River (1200’) Chamber will be utilized to lock all traffic upbound and downbound.

The contractor’s floating plant will consist of the Dredge Bill Holman, M/V’s LENARD and BUDDY, and the ROBERT T, one shop barge, one spill barge, and floating pipeline sections. The Dredge Bill Holman, M/V’s LENARD and BUDDY will be monitoring marine channel 13.
