Channel Maintenance Dredging: Tentative Schedule Kanawha River

Notice is given that on 24 August 2022, Amherst Madison will commence channel maintenance dredging on the Kanawha River for the Huntington District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Disposal operations will take place at the permitted sites for each location.
The contractor’s floating plant will consist of the M/V MILTON, one barge mounted crane, and three material barges. The M/V MILTON will be monitoring marine channel 13 and should be contacted for passing arrangements. Dredging will be performed from 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m., seven days a week. A government dredge inspector will be in attendance at each site.
Mariners are requested to be alert to the location of the dredge and its disposal operations. It is essential that mariners await the passing signal from the dredge prior to proceeding with caution. During non-working hours, all equipment will be moored outside the navigation channel, marked and lighted according to regulations.
