CISA Announces New Cyber Innovation Fellows Initiative for Private Sector Cyber Experts
Today, CISA launched the new Cyber Innovation Fellows which offers private sector cybersecurity experts the opportunity to participate on CISA’s cybersecurity operational teams for the benefit of CISA’s mission and their own professional development.
Fellows will help design the process through which CISA implements its cybersecurity programs and services. They will also strategize new approaches to: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, post-compromise containment, program evaluation and analysis, cloud security, and other legacy programs supporting federal cybersecurity.
This initiative is intended to contribute to the current information sharing practices between CISA and the private sector by allowing both parties to integrate the unique capabilities of the other now and on an ongoing basis. Additionally, Fellows will gain professional development and bring new insight back to their home organization.
If selected, Fellows will work with the agency on a part-time basis of two to three days per week for a period of up to four months. The first cohort of Fellows is expected to onboard in the fall 2022.
Nominations for the Cyber Innovation Fellows will be received through July 8, 2022. For more details on this initiative, visit cisa.gov/cyber-fellows.
