CISA Releases Personal Security Considerations Fact Sheet

CISA Releases Personal Security Considerations Fact Sheet

CISA is pleased to announce the release of the Personal Security Considerations fact sheet to assist personnel associated with ownership, operation, and maintenance of critical infrastructure by recommending basic security measures to reduce the threat of targeted violence. The fact sheet provides behavioral indicators and suspicious activity to be aware of to enable reporting, reducing the probability of becoming a victim of an attack.

In addition to physical security measures, the fact sheet incorporates cyber security measures, for example, limiting personal information sharing in digital platforms and being aware of attempts to post personally identifiable information online with the intent to harm, harass, or intimidate.  For more information on doxing, please see CISA Insights: Mitigating the Impacts of Doxing on Critical Infrastructure. Following these recommended security measures not only mitigate threats to personal safety but can enhance the protection of critical infrastructure.
