Anchorage, AK

PND Engineers seeks a highly motivated civil design engineer with at least 4-6 years of professional experience for a key position in our dynamic, multidiscipline Anchorage office. The award-winning team in this office performs challenging civil design and construction administration projects with special emphasis in coastal environments. You will work on a variety of interesting projects, including site development, production of construction drawings and specifications, and design of utilities, site grading and waterfront facilities.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity for some travel in Alaska and to work on projects that are sited in remote areas.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • Alaska P.E. registration or ability to become registered in Alaska within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a teamwork setting and to direct other engineering staff in an office of approximately 50 engineers and technicians.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and either MicroStation or Civil 3D, as well as other engineering software applications.
  • Excellent time management skills, and ability to produce accurate, efficient work within budget and time constraints.
  • Strong written and oral English skills necessary to communicate with clients, co-workers, and contractors.
  • Ability to occasionally travel for inspection or site assessments.
  • Construction experience a plus.
  • Valid U.S. drivers’ license and good driving record required.

 

Juneau, AK

Are you a highly motivated civil design engineer seeking an environment where your talents are valued and encouraged to grow? Join our Juneau, Alaska, office in a key position performing challenging civil design and construction administration.  You will collaborate on a variety of interesting projects and hone your skills in general civil design including site development, transportation, utilities, site grading, waterfront facilities and the production of construction drawings and specifications.  Most of our projects include all aspects of engineering design through onsite construction inspection and contract administration. Position requires occasional travel within Alaska in support of projects throughout the state.  Successful candidate will have the opportunity to visit Juneau before accepting an offer. Relocation expenses and 3-6 month housing assistance available.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • Achieved E.I.T. certification in Alaska or other U.S. state with goal to become a licensed professional engineer.
  • 0-5 years of relevant professional experience. More experienced applicants are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a teamwork setting and to direct other engineering staff in an office of approximately 15 engineers and technicians.
  • Familiarity with AutoCad Civil 3D, Microsoft Office and other general software applications.
  • Ability to produce accurate, efficient work within budget and time constraints.
  • Strong written and oral English skills necessary to communicate with clients, co-workers, and contractors.
  • Willingness and ability to perform inspection in a variety of outdoor settings and climate conditions.
  • Ability to occasionally travel away from home for a few days to a few weeks at a time using commercial airline, smaller airplanes, helicopters, or boats. Travel expectation is approximately 10-20%.
  • Valid U.S. drivers’ license and good driving record required.

Our small Portland office collaborates closely with our larger Anchorage and Seattle offices performing challenging civil design and construction administration projects with special emphasis in coastal environments. You will work on a variety of interesting projects, including site development, production of construction drawings and specifications, and design of utilities, site grading and waterfront facilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity for some travel and to work on projects that are sited in remote areas. This position offers the option, if desired, to be based in our Anchorage office.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited school.
  • P.E. registration or ability to become registered within 12 months of hire.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Ability to work seamlessly in a teamwork setting and to direct other engineering staff via MS Teams, phone and email collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and either MicroStation or Civil 3D, as well as other engineering software applications.
  • Excellent time management skills, and ability to produce accurate, efficient work within budget and time constraints.
  • Strong written and oral English skills necessary to communicate with clients, co-workers, and contractors.
