Coastal Engineer (St. Paul, MN)

AMI Consulting Engineers, PA is seeking a full-time Coastal Engineer, with 5+ years’ experience, to join our Team. The qualified candidate will be responsible for assessments, proposals, design, and planning/execution of coastal designs on a wide range of projects including emergency stabilization, new construction, rehabilitation & restoration, and modifications to existing structures.

The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills and have excellent follow through while taking ownership in each project assigned. Travel and field work may be required to complete projects. The successful candidate must serve the engineering needs of clients by providing exceptional professional service. They should be passionate about their work, enjoy variety and like problem solving. This candidate will need to be a team player, honest and have a helpful disposition with a positive “can-do” attitude.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from ABET accredited university

  • 2+ years of coastal engineering or similar experience

  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or ability to obtain within 2 years

  • Ability to delegate tasks to ensure rigid deadlines are met

  • Ability to travel and work remotely for short periods of time

  • Knowledgeable in the design of coastal elements and systems

  • Working knowledge of coastal and environmental processes

  • Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Self-starter that is deadline driven and accountable

  • Enjoys an ever changing, fast paced work environment

Additional Qualifications Desired (Not Required)

  • Construction management experience

  • Ability to mentor junior staff

  • Experience with CAD design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D)

  • Coastal modeling experience

Compensation
