Mobile Ops, a division of Parker Towing Company, is currently hiring for a deckhand. To be considered for this position, you must live within 50 miles of Mobile, AL and have at least 6 months of deckhand experience and reliable transportation. NO EXCEPTIONS.


A deckhand must performs tasks associated with building and breaking tow, as well as towboat and barge maintenance. A deckhand is responsible for keeping the boat and tow clean and safe at all times. At this location, work is performed on rotating 12 hour shifts with the schedule of 14/7 (7 days, 7 nights, 7 off).


  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must have a valid/current drivers license, NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass United States Coast Guard physical requirements including but not limited to lifting, pushing, pulling, carrying heavy equipment, maintain balance and navigate uneven surfaces, climbing up and down ladders and stairways.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions (extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, snow, etc.)
  • Must be able to work required schedule
  • Must be able to work various weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to pass United States Coast Guard drug screen
  • Must be able to understand and complete verbal and written orders
  • Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
