GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK PERFORMED:
Responsible for providing management and oversight for business operations, marine terminals, and industrial facilities. Develops strategies and implements processes that are designed to enhance the Ports current capabilities and improve cargo throughput. Maintains compliance with contracts / agreements between the Port and users of terminal facilities. Builds strong relationships and communications with shippers, stevedores, agents, freight forwards, stake holders, and local representatives. Coordinates with staff on budgetary matters, business operations, and project status updates. Responsible for monitoring and measuring KPI’s and departmental reviews. Manages the administration of the Port’s real estate, trade development, and marketing. Collaborates with Port Director to create a strategic plan to attract new business. Responds to inquiries from tenants of Port owned properties, and all other stakeholders. Monitors cost and trends related to the maritime sector and competing ports. Develops and executes comprehensive plans for increasing Port cargo revenues.
Provides HR support and direction to reporting managers as needed.
DESIRABLE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, transportation, or a related field is required. At least 7 years’ progressively responsible experience in port and/or terminal operations, ocean carrier, or logistics industry.
SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS/ABILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

1. Must have experience in port and commercial shipping operations and proven ability to multi-task and coordinate with numerous personnel simultaneously.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication ability.
3. Organized with attention to detail.
4. Excellent managerial and organizational abilities.
5. Excellent interpersonal skills.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
7. Ability to coordinate efforts of various teams to present a coherent message.
