Dredge Operations: Mobile Bar Channel

Notice is given to mariners that Manson Construction Co.’s hopper dredge Newport will begin dredging operations in the Mobile Bar Channel on or around January 10th. Material will be placed in the Sand Island Beneficial Use Area (SIBUA) northwest extension, west of the Sand Island Lighthouse. Dredging activities are expected to last approximately 3 weeks. The dredge can be contacted on VHF Channels 13 and 16.

For further information, please contact the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Irvington Site Office at (251) 957-6019. Mariners should exercise extreme caution when transiting these areas.
