Dredging: Houston Ship Channel, Texas, Bayport to Morgans, Bayport Ship Channel, and Barbours Flare Pipeline Dredging

The Dredge “Constellation” (Inland Dredging Company, LLC) will be operating in the Houston Ship Channel (HSC) between Beacon 93 and Beacon 76, Bayport Channel, Bayport Flare, and Barbours Channel. Utilizing a pipeline and discharging the dredged material in Placement Area, PA14 Spilman Island.

 

The contractor is dredging Barbours Cut Flare and will move to dredge Houston Ship Channel from Beacon 93 downstream HSC to Beacon 76.  Contractor’s related floating plant, including barges, tugs crew boats, skiffs, survey boats, and pipeline will be used in and around the work areas. Work is ongoing since December 10, 2021, with expected completion of December 18, 2022 February 1, 2023.

  • Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
  • Communications is to be accomplished via VHF-FM Channel 12. The Traffic Center guards both Channel 12 and Channel 13 on a 24-hour basis. Respective dredge(s) should be contacted for coordination of passing and movement near operations.
