Dredging Operations: 20 Grand Point & Morgan City-Port Allen Alt Rte

Beginning on or about 26 September 2022, the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge CAPTAIN FRANK will be working in the vicinity of Morgan City, Louisiana, at 20 Grand Point in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW).
Dredged material will be deposited into deep water of the Atchafalaya River. The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will be monitoring VHF Marine Channel 72.
Once completed at 20 Grand Point, the dredge will then work at Mile 32 and Mile 34 of the GIWW Morgan City-Port Allen Alternate Route until approximately 15 October 2022.
Dredged material will be deposited along the bank of the Alternate Route. The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will be monitoring VHF Marine Channels 16 and 72.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
