Dredging Operations: Brazos Island Harbor, TX

The Hopper Dredge “B.E. Lindholm” (Weeks Marine, Inc.) will begin dredging operations on June 18,2023 in the Brazos Island Harbor (BIH) Entrance and Jetty Channel. The work is expected to last 60 calendar days. The Contractor's related floating plant (tugboat, survey boat, and skiffs) will be used in and around the work area.
The Entrance and Jetty channel dredging will take place from the buoys “R2” and “G3”, all the way to buoys “R10” and “G9”. The Hopper will continuously transport the dredged material to South Padre Island DMPA No. 2 (coordinates: 26°-07.6'N, 097°-09.2'W).

Expected completion date: 15 August 2023
Dredging operations are continuous, 24 Hours/Day, 7 Days/Week.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
Dredges monitors channel 13,16, and 72 on marine VHF radio. The respective dredge should be contacted for coordination of passing and movement near all dredging operations.
