Dredging Operations: Calcasieu River Mile 22 & 23

Effective immediately and continuing through approximately 10 June 2023, the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge MIKE HOOKS will be working in the Calcasieu River Channel between Mile 22 and Mile 23, and at the intersection of the Intracoastal Waterway (including the flare at Devil’s Elbow to the end of the Turning Basin).

The Dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will give way to passing navigation. The Dredge can be contacted on either VHF channel 13 or 16 for sailing instructions.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
