EDI Specialist (Aurora, IL)

JOB SUMMARY

The EDI Specialist will lead the process of implementing electronic data interchange (EDI) across Tangent locations.  This person will manage, maintain, and administer the EDI systems.  The EDI Specialist will report to the Information Technology Manager.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the project lifecycle of any EDI implementation and integrations
• Responsible for developing and maintaining EDI and cXML PO and invoice integrations for customers and trading partners
• Understand requirements of our trading partners and be able to translate them into mapping specifications
• Prioritize and track progress of EDI solution enhancements.
• Specify, review, and test EDI related functionality and system upgrades on ERP system
• Work with 3rd party vendors to develop, test, and support integrations and onboarding new partners
• Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to allow for repeated and similar functions
• Engages and serves as a liaison between all EDI-related vendors/consultants and Tangent staff
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• The ideal candidate must be highly familiar with 810, 830, 850, 855, 856 and 862 transactions.
• Proven ability to lead EDI projects from planning to launch, including post-launch training and support
• Ability to analyze and solve complex EDI problems and understand the impact it has on the business
• Good at basic mapping as well as with import and exports of EDI transactions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• 5+ years working with EDI and other eCommerce applications and format.
• Working in manufacturing and retail industry is a huge plus.
