GHD is accepting applications for an Enterprise Architect-GHD Digital (Duluth, GA)

The GHD Digital Experience (DX) team within GHD Digital is looking for an experienced, motivated, and hands-on technical enterprise architect who possess a unique balance of technical depth in the cloud and industrial IoT spaces and strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

In this role, you will primarily work with the DX IIoT product manager to build a world-class enterprise IoT application and backbone that will serve as the foundation for many downstream applications. You will help shape, execute, and deliver reliable and cost-effective cloud-native solutions for a broad range of applications, primarily industrial IoT. Additionally, you will also work with the rest of the DX product management team to review their existing on-premises infrastructure and develop a strategy to leverage the cloud infrastructure fully. You will be responsible for and be a proponent of building and maintaining an interconnected and strong application ecosystem within DX.

The individual in this role has strong application modernization and cloud-native application development expertise, hands-on building experience, and cross-industry business acumen. A passion for continued knowledge acquisition, growth, and obsession for building world-class technology products are a must.

The ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in building and maintaining complex cloud systems, experience in the IoT field, and experience as a cloud consultant or solutions architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges. We are looking for candidates who are comfortable at the intersection of technology and business. The Enterprise Architect is a very technical role - you must be broadly competent across many areas of technology (IoT, infrastructure, security, DevOps, databases, application development, analytics) and deep in at least three of those areas. On the business side, connecting technology with measurable business value is critical to an Enterprise Architect. The individual in this role will spend most of their day interacting with the DX product management team, developers, software engineers, and similar stakeholders in other groups.

Here are some other qualities we are looking for:

  • You will have a passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for a varied and challenging group of stakeholders
  • Have a strong understanding of large scale cloud computing solutions.
  • The ideal candidate will have experience working as a system or support engineer, solutions/enterprise architect, or cloud consultant.
  • You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones so you can make substantial contributions to in-depth architecture discussions.
  • You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class solutions.
  • Implement or be highly knowledgeable of DevOps practices such as infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated deployment, and test case automation through the whole stack
  • Strong expertise in agile software development and DevOps
  • Enjoy working as a technical leader alongside functional, development, infrastructure, and support teams
  • Deep understanding of and experience building global and scalable IoT systems end-to-end
  • Digital transformation experience: having used technology solutions to change the way a business works through both a change in process as well as tools

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead and influence the design, development, deployment, and integration of IoT and similar apps at scale through hands-on work in technology infrastructure, network, compute storage, and virtualization
  • Participate in in-depth architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
  • Capture and develop best-practice knowledge across the DX application ecosystem end-to-end from application design, development, and QA testing through to deployment and support
  • Work with DX product managers to outline functional specifications and translate them into technical specifications/design documents through collaboration with development and design teams
  • Re-architect existing DX solutions to be cloud-native and scalable, build strong technical foundations and ensure a reliable and interconnected application ecosystem
  • Continuously identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and leverage new technologies and practices to improve existing applications as well as the DX ecosystem
  • Actively seek, understand, and adopt the latest technological trends, especially in the area of IoT
  • Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within other teams to enable them to be cloud advocates

Qualifications
