Fiber Optic Cable Repair Big Sandy River, Mile 1.0

Notice is given that on or about 14 April 2026, Superior Marine, contractor for CSX Rail Road, will begin repairing the fiber optic cable under the Catlettsburg railroad bridge on the Big Sandy River, mile 1.0.

The contractor’s floating plant will consist of the M/V TAYLOR RENEE and one barge mounted crane with a manlift. The M/V TAYLOR RENEE will be monitoring marine channels 13 and 16. Work will be conducted Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Work is expected to be completed on or about 18 April 2026.

During non-working hours, the contractor’s floating plant will be moored offsite.
Mariners are urged to pass at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution.
