JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
This position will require frequent travel to Ohio CAT locations and customer locations. A willingness to study and learn new skills and technical information related to the job is required. The technician will travel to customer and branch locations to perform Product Link Hardware and Software upgrades, with a long-term focus on completing safety, priority letters, and other tasks as needed in support of our customer satisfaction goals.
COMPETENCIES:
General technical service skills, mechanical aptitude or experience with construction or power equipment required, and strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge is crucial. Must demonstrate the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete manufacturers’ updates, as required. Must be organized, self-motivated, and able to work without direct supervision and work Flex/Shift hours. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong computer and software skills are required.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Graduate minimum. College or continued education in a technical field is a plus
Product link systems and fundamentals are preferred. Experience related to construction or power equipment service and repair is required. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio CAT standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling. Standing/Sitting Up and downstairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines. Dexterity Normal. Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
