Freshwater Mussel Salvage, Nucor, Ohio River, Mile 281 to 282

Notice is given that on or about 8 August 2023, Edge Engineering & Science, will perform diving operations to salvage freshwater mussels, between mile points 281.0 and 282.0 of the Ohio River along the left descending bank. The mussels will be relocated to approximate mile point 284.0 along the left descending bank of the Ohio River.

The contractor's floating plant will consist of multiple dive boats, 24 feet in length or less. The contractor will be monitoring marine channel 13. The work will be performed seven days a week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with an anticipated completion date of 15 November 2023. Dive vessels will display the International alpha code and recreational dive flags while performing under and above water work.

During non-working hours, the dive boats will be removed from the river.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution.
