Great Lakes Dredge & Dock is accepting applications for Watch Engineers: USACE Memphis and Vicksburg District Dredge
A Watch Engineer is responsible for maintaining, servicing, repairing, fabricating, installing and/or removing equipment, engines, motors, hydraulic and electrical systems on a Cutter Suction Dredge. He/she may lift and carry service parts, electric motors, batteries, valves and pumps. He/she will also order parts, interface with crew members, home office personnel, and trouble shoot with outside vendors in the repair of various systems. Engineers are responsible for completing daily engineer logs, keeping maintenance records, and utilizing various computer programs to perform aspects of his/her job. Check and maintain dump scows. May lift, carry, pull or push items weighing up to 75 lbs when making repairs or when handling materials and supplies
- Able to operate generating engines and associated dredge equipment.
- 5 years experience in the capacity of Engineer or similar position preferred
- Capable of learning engineering system associated with dredge equipment.
- Commitment to work safety and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- To perform specialized work aboard the Dredge and attendant plant.
- Complete a pre-employment physical examination, drug screen, and criminal background check.
- Transportation to and from jobsite.
