Henderson County Riverport Authority Announces Hiring of New Executive Director
Henderson, KY— November 4, 2022 — The Board of Directors for the Henderson County Riverport Authority announce the hiring of Bernard “Ben” Weithman as the new Executive Director for the Henderson County Riverport. Mr. Weithman takes over for the retiring Greg Pritchett, who has led the organization for the previous 19 years. Weithman stated, “Mr. Pritchett, through his tireless efforts promoting the Henderson County area specifically and the Western Kentucky region in general exemplifies why the region has enjoyed successes and has developed an excellent reputation for getting things done for the customer. I am grateful to the Board of Directors for offering me this opportunity and to allow me to work with Greg prior to the changeover at the end of the year.”
Mr. Weithman comes to the Riverport by way of the Ports of Indiana – Mount Vernon, where he served as Port Director, managing the day-to-day operations at the port, developing economic opportunities, and marketing port properties with the goal of growing the size and scale of the port within the region and the state. Before joining Ports of Indiana,
Mr. Weithman served as the Senior Transportation Market Consultant/Analyst for Ag Commodities at HIS Markit, providing analysis and problem solving for clients focusing on the inland rivers, rail, truck and export markets. Prior to that Mr. Weithman spent 20 years developing and managing a diverse portfolio of properties including industrial, commercial, retail, warehousing, and hospitality. Mr. Weithman graduated from the Ohio State University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Agribusiness and Applied Economics and completed his Master of Business Administration at the University of Southern Indiana’s Romain College of Business. He currently lives in Evansville with his wife Lora.
