UPDATE
I have received word from the USCG that the Safety Zone for mm166-167 has been lifted and the channel is open. Earlier today, the IRCA Locking Committee met with USCG and USACE to mitigate the traffic and congestion in the area. All parties agreed to the following...
1. Peoria Lock will not lock any additional N/B tows into the Peoria pool until the congestion has cleared
2. M/V RENEE MARIE is the only S/B tow that should transit in order to clear the channel for N/B traffic
3. Once N/B traffic has cleared, all S/B traffic can resume
4. Peoria Lock will go back into normal operations and queue management after the N/B tows have departed the area
5. All traffic will resume Rules of the Road
Thanks to all for their coordination while we clear the congestion and get back to normal operations. Please reach out with any questions or concerns. I will forward the BNM once I receive it.
Be safe,
