Illinois Waterway Hydraulic Dredging RM 226.6-228.4

Hydraulic dredging on the Illinois Waterway, Peoria Pool at the Vermillion and Deer Park light reach, river mile 226.6-228.4 will begin at 1800 hrs. Wednesday, October 11th and continue 24/7 until further notice. Crews are setting up for the first cut today October 10th and should be dredging by 1800 hrs. Wednesday, October 11th. Dredging is taking place on the left descending and right descending bankline . A crossing line will be in place while dredging the Left descending bankline RM 226.6. Passing vessels are required to coordinate transiting the area with the Dredge Barry J. Dredge Barry J will handle all queues if need be. Breaking the line to pass traffic requires more notice to the Dredge, small delays should be expected. Dredging in this location is expected to last between 10-14 days.
