INNER HARBOR NAVIGATION CANAL LOCK & ALGIERS LOCK (UPDATE)

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 23-69, dated 2 June 2023, stating that commencing on approximately 3 June 2023, the U.S. Government Contract Cutterhead Dredge CAPTAIN FRANK will be working in the forebays of the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal (IHNC) Lock and Algiers Lock through approximately 11 June 2023.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE DREDGE CAPTAIN FRANK HAS COMPLETED ITS DREDGING OPERATIONS IN THE FOREBAY OF THE INNER HARBOR NAVIGATION CANAL (IHNC) LOCK.
DREDGING OPERATIONS IN THE FOREBAY OF ALGIERS LOCK HAVE BEEN POSTPONED. THE DREDGE WILL COMMENCE WORKING IN THE FOREBAY OF ALGIERS LOCK ON OR ABOUT 16 JUNE 2023 AND CONTINUE THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 22 JUNE 2023.
The Dredge will work 24 hours a day, and the dredged material will be deposited through floating pipelines into deep water of the Mississippi River.
Dredge personnel will be monitoring VHF channels 16 and 67.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
