Bryan Cave is hiring an International Arbitration and Construction Disputes Associate in their London, OH office. Candidate will be advising on domestic construction disputes and international construction arbitrations.
Key responsibilities: Advising contractors, employers and consultants from across the construction and engineering industries in relation to:
• International commercial arbitration, particularly in relation to construction and engineering disputes • Large and small adjudications • Complex litigation in the Technology and Construction Court, including the Pre-Action Protocol • Project advisory work • ADR processes, including mediation.
Key relationships: The role is for an Associate with suitable specialist knowledge to work as part of a broader team. The team in London does a mix of international commercial arbitration, construction arbitration and domestic construction dispute work. The team is looking to grow and requires an Associate with specialist knowledge of construction disputes, and international construction arbitration.
Experience and knowledge: Up to four years’ post qualification experience in international arbitration and construction disputes, with strong academics.
Skills and competencies:
- Genuine knowledge of international law, both private and public; • Detailed knowledge of and experience of applying fundamental principles of construction law and insurance; • Experience advising on and day-to-day conduct of construction disputes, both domestic and international, including adjudication, litigation and international arbitration; • Commercially focused with an intellectual curiosity; • Confident in front of clients; • Ability to work independently but know when to seek additional support; • Clear and concise communication skills; and • Flexibility and adaptability.
