Lock Closure: Brandon Road Lock and Dam RM 286.0

Brandon Road Lock, River Mile 286.0 will be closed from 0600 hrs. on Thursday, 1 June 2023 until 1830 hrs. on Saturday, 30 September 2023.

This closure is required as part of the 2023 Illinois Waterway Consolidated Lock Closures. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate the installation of upper miter gates and both upper and lower miter gate machinery. Work also being accomplished includes upper sill modifications, upper miter gate anchorage modifications, rehab of filling/emptying valve, concrete repairs and an electrical rehabilitation.

Towboat operators are requested NOT to tie up on the guidewalls during this closure period. Please contact the lock at 815-744-1714 or on channel 14 for assistance.
