SITUATION: NAVIGATIONAL RESTRICTIONS
US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Vicksburg Dive Team will be performing diving operations at the Colorado River Locks East and West Locks to power blast marine growth off the sector gates and perform inspections of the lower hinges and grease lines. They will also check for sand and silt deposits in the gate recesses. This work will require closure of the Locks during the designated periods of work. Work will be performed on weekends and holidays.
Work will take place from Tuesday, 11 April 2023 through Sunday, April 16, 2023, or Monday, April 17, 2023, 7:00 a.m. (0700 Hrs.) to 7:00 p.m. (1900 Hrs.).
COOPERATION SOLICITED:
Mariners should contact the Lock Master at government cell phone (979) 482-7321 to confirm the closure time to minimize their delay.
The Lock Master will be knowledgeable of the exact closure times 24 hours in advance of closure.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
