Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal Authority (LIGTT)
Louisiana International Deep Water Gulf Transfer Terminal (LIGTT) is envisioned to be America’s first deep water transfer terminal designed to accommodate the demands of Post-Panamax and larger Cape Size vessels. The centerpiece of the system is a deep water transfer terminal to be located just east of the mouth of the Mississippi River where the Southwest Pass meets the Gulf of Mexico. It is anticipated the terminal will be equipped to handle bulk cargo, petroleum products, and containers. The 2,238-acre site, with depths up to 108 feet, is owned by the State of Louisiana.
