Low Water/Current and Increased Wind Speeds Effecting Ships at Anchor

Low water levels and current speed along with increased wind speeds are causing ships in several anchorages to tail into the navigation channel.

The middle ship at Bonnet Carrie Anchorage MM 128.0 is impinging on the navigational channel and one way traffic is recommended for ships and large tows until the vessel can be re-anchored. Other ships in several other anchorages are having the same issues.

Mariners are advised to operate with caution when approaching these areas and be aware of oncoming traffic.  Monitor VHF-FM Ch 67 to make passing arrangements.
