DREDGING OPERATIONS - Mississippi River - Deep Draft Crossings

Beginning on approximately 8 May 2022 and continuing until approximately 30 September 2022, the U.S. Government Contract Dustpan Dredge WALLACE McGEORGE will be working at the Mississippi River Deep Draft Crossings between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana.

The first dredging location will be at the Smoke Bend Crossing, at approximate mile 174.2 Above Head of Passes (AHP) of the Mississippi River.

The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will give way to vessels using the waterway. The dredge can be contacted on either VHF channel 16 or 67 for sailing instructions.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
