Update: Friday, June 3, 2022 9:45 pm
IRPT has been in contact with USCG and received the following report.
USCG reports divers will be in the water in the morning trying to locate the cable. Entergy wanted to cut the cable and pull from the river however this cannot be done without the cable breaking. USACE has determined the cable needs to be removed completely without cutting to prevent future dredging issues. VTS anticipates the river will continue to be closed for another one to one and a half days.
IRPT will have a call in the morning with USCG and will give an update at that time.
