Pickens County Port

Pickens County Port, at mile 308 on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, is located on Alabama State Highway 86 near the Alabama-Mississippi state line. This port boasts 25,000 ft² in warehousing space as well as a 15-car rail siding served by Alabama and Gulf Coast Railway. Pickens County Port provides an intermodal link between truck, barge and rail.

Products Handled: General cargoes including clinker cement, coal, coke, gypsum, bulk fertilizer, cottonseed, sand, aggregates and forest products.

Storage: Open, 11.5 acres; Inside 25,000 ft².

Barges Handled: One worked, six held.

Handling Equipment: Caterpillar 235 excavator equipped with a 7 CY clam for duty cycle and light hook work.

Connections: 15-car rail siding served by Alabama and Gulf Coast Railway, State Highway 186.

Parker Towing Company also operates terminals for loading and unloading barges at several locations in Alabama and Tennessee. These terminals handle a broad range of dry cargo commodities and provide an intermodal link between barges, trucks, and rail.
