Marcus Construction Expands Their Capabilities with Both a New Process Piping Company and Innovative Equipment Solution

Marcus Construction announces an exciting time of growth and innovation as they launch two new companies; Shepherd Process Piping & Design and MassShift Automation.

Shepherd Process Piping & Design is a design-build process piping and fabrication company serving agricultural retailers, cooperatives, fertilizer terminals, and industrial liquid handling facilities. Shepherd provides a fully integrated approach that combines in-house system design, advanced 3D modeling, fabrication, construction management, and field installation into a single coordinated solution. By bringing design and execution together, Shepherd will eliminate communication gaps, reduce project risk, and provide greater certainty throughout the lifecycle of every project.

With the announcement of Shepherd Process Piping & Design, Marcus is excited to have Seth Brandsoy join their team. Seth brings nearly two decades of welding, plumbing, fabrication, and construction management experience in liquid fertilizer, industrial, and food processing facilities. He also has a wealth of knowledge and hands-on experience leading and coordinating crews on projects with a safety and quality focus.

“The name Shepherd,” described by Darin Bushard, Marcus Construction Owner & VP of Business Development “reflects our commitment to guide customers through complex projects with clarity and confidence. Many of our agricultural infrastructure projects involve numerous stakeholders, changing requirements, regulatory considerations, and operational constraints. Shepherd's role is to bring organization, direction, and transparency to that process, ensuring our customers know what to expect at every stage and Seth is the right leader to hit the ground running.”

MassShift Automation, is a platform company dedicated to helping bulk material facilities embrace the next generation of automation, intelligence, and operational efficiency. In partnership with Mach, a leader in off-road autonomy technology, MassShift is actively developing an autonomous wheel loader solution that will transform how bulk material facilities operate through practical, scalable automation solutions that solve real-world workforce, productivity, and operational challenges.

“Bulk material handling is one of the most demanding off-highway applications we target,” explains Colin Hurd, CEO & Founder of Mach. “Partnering with MassShift pairs their deep operational experience with Mach’s autonomy platform to solve real labor and productivity bottlenecks. We aren’t just building revolutionary tech together, we’re focused on solving practical problems on actual job sites.”

Founded on a legacy of innovation and execution, MassShift brings together advanced automation technology, industry expertise, and customer-focused support. Unlike traditional technology providers, MassShift will serve as a full-service automation partner, bridging the gap between technology and operations by managing customer onboarding, deployment, training, support, and long-term success.

Darin says, “at the core of MassShift Automation, we believe innovation only creates value when it improves the lives of the people and businesses it serves and we look forward to providing that for our clients.”

Both of these investments, Shepherd Process Piping & Design and MassShift Automation, reinforce Marcus Construction's commitment to bringing innovative solutions to the agribusiness market.
