MILE 10.5 AHP RDB VICINITY OF THE VENICE JUMP (UPDATE)

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 22-124, dated 6 October 2022, stating that a U.S. Government Maintenance Unit will be working in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Venice Boat Slip, located near the intersection of the Venice Jump and the Mississippi River at approximate mile 10.5 Above Head of Passes (AHP) on the Right Descending Bank (RDB) until approximately 31 October 2022.
MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE WORK IN THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS VENICE BOAT SLIP HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH APPROXIMATELY 27 NOVEMBER 2022.
The Maintenance Unit is working on the Venice Boat Slip sheet piling bulkhead, welding braces for tie backs and bumpers.
The Maintenance Unit, consisting of pontoon barges and the Support Tug M/V BIENVILLE, will work, at times, at the entrance of the Venice Boat Slip during daylight hours, Mondays through Thursdays, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and can be contacted on either VHF Marine Channel 13, 67, or 16, and at (337) 523-9248.
MARINERS ARE URGED TO TRANSIT AT THEIR SLOWEST SAFE SPEED TO PREVENT ANY WAKE AND PROCEED WITH CAUTION WHEN IN THE VICINITY OF THE ENTRANCE TO THE VENICE BOAT SLIP.
