Mississippi River and Southwest Pass Update

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 23-10, dated 24 January 2023, stating that beginning on approximately 31 January 2023 and continuing through approximately 31 July 2023, the U.S. Government Contract Hopper Dredge GLENN EDWARDS will be working in Southwest Pass from Head of Passes (mile 0) to approximately mile 22 Below Head of Passes (BHP), and in the Mississippi River from Head of Passes to approximately mile 13 Above Head of Passes (AHP).
MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00 A.M. ON 8 MARCH 2023, THE DREDGE GLENN EDWARDS WILL TEMPORARILY DEPART SOUTHWEST PASS AND THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER.
THE DREDGE WILL RESUME WORKING IN SOUTHWEST PASS FROM HEAD OF PASSES (MILE 0) TO APPROXIMATELY MILE 22 BELOW HEAD OF PASSES (BHP), AND IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER FROM HEAD OF PASSES TO APPROXIMATELY MILE 13 ABOVE HEAD OF PASSES (AHP) FROM ABOUT 11 MARCH 2023 AND CONTINUING THROUGH ABOUT 31 JULY 2023.
The Dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and can be contacted on either VHF channel 67 or 16 for sailing instructions.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
