Mississippi River Commission Public Meetings

The Mississippi River Commission has issued a Notice of Public Meetings for the upcoming High-Water Inspection trip in April.
Public meetings will be held on board the Motor Vessel Mississippi as follows:

Port of Hickman, KY ………..…………. 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 8 April 2019

Memphis, TN – Beale Street Landing … 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 9 April 2019

Port of Rosedale, MS ………………. 12:00 p.m. – 04:30 p.m., 10 April 2019

Baton Rouge, LA – City Dock ………. 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 12 April 2019
 

Matters to be Considered: (1) Summary report by President of the Commission on national and regional issues affecting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Commission programs and projects on the Mississippi River and its tributaries; (2) District Commander’s overview of current project issues within the St. Louis and Memphis Districts; and (3) Presentations by local organizations and members of the public giving views or comments on any issue affecting the programs or projects of the Commission and the Corps of Engineers. Your testimony and participation serve as the foundation of upon which federal investments/improvements rest, so please consider blocking these dates on your calendars.

If there is a particular challenge or development that you wish for the Commissioners to see first-hand, please get with your local Corps of Engineers district office or Edie Whittington. They will be shaping the schedule in the weeks ahead, so please float your ideas by the end of the month.
