MISSISSIPPI RIVER: DEEP DRAFT CROSSINGS (UPDATE)

Navigation Bulletin 22-85

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 22-62, dated 20 May 2022, stating that the U.S. Government Dustpan Dredge JADWIN will be working at the Mississippi River Deep Draft Crossings between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana until approximately 30 September 2022.

MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE DREDGE JADWIN HAS DEPARTED THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DEEP DRAFT CROSSINGS BETWEEN BATON ROUGE AND NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA. THE DREDGE JADWIN WILL RETURN TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DEEP DRAFT CROSSINGS BETWEEN BATON ROUGE AND NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, AND WORK FROM APPROXIMATELY 30 JULY 2022 UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 14 OCTOBER 2022.

The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will give way to vessels using the waterway. The dredge can be contacted on either VHF channel 16 or 67 for sailing instructions. Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
