NAVIGATION BULLETIN NO. 23-48,

MISSISSIPPI RIVER - DEEP DRAFT CROSSINGS

Beginning on approximately 30 April 2023 and continuing through approximately 1 June 2023, the U.S. Government Contract Hopper Dredge GLENN EDWARDS will be working at the Mississippi River Deep Draft Crossings between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana.

The first dredging location will be at the Fairview Crossing, at approximate mile 115.7 Above Head of Passes (AHP) of the Mississippi River.

The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will give way to vessels using the waterway.  The dredge can be contacted on either VHF channel 16 or 67 for sailing instructions.

Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
