Navigation Bulletin No. 22-100: Mississippi River-Deep Craft Crossing and Southwest Pass (update)

Reference Navigation Bulletin No. 22-88, dated 25 July 2022, stating that the U.S. Government Contract Hopper Dredge GLENN EDWARDS will temporarily move from working at the Mississippi River Deep Draft Crossings to working in Southwest Pass from Head of Passes (mile 0) to approximately mile 22 Below Head of Passes (BHP), and in the Mississippi River from Head of Passes to approximately mile 13 Above Head of Passes (AHP) until approximately 2 August 2022.
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, MARINERS ARE ADVISED THAT THE DREDGE GLENN EDWARDS HAS COMPLETED ITS DREDGING OPERATIONS IN SOUTHWEST PASS AND IN THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER FROM HEAD OF PASSES TO APPROXIMATELY MILE 13 ABOVE HEAD OF PASSES (AHP).
ON APPROXIMATELY 12 AUGUST 2022, THE DREDGE WILL RETURN TO THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER DEEP DRAFT CROSSINGS AND WORK BETWEEN BATON ROUGE AND NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA, UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 1 SEPTEMBER 2022.
The dredge will work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and will give way to vessels using the waterway. The dredge can be contacted on either VHF channel 16 or 67 for sailing instructions.
Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made.
