Navigation Notice: Gulf and Intracoastal Waterways

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) M/V Snell is currently moored in the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway at the Colorado River Locks in the area between the Corps of Engineers Boathouse and canal of the East Locks. All light boats are urged to move to the south side of the channel when passing the M/V Snell to minimize swells/wakes. The light boats are requested to give the area between the boathouse and canal side of the East Locks a slow bell.


TIME: The notice will be in place from, 26 March 2020 until further notice, all day (24/7), including weekends and holidays.



  • Mariners should contact the Lock Master at (979) 863-7842 for any questions.
  • Mariners are urged to transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution.
